The Gustavus volleyball team claimed a convincing 3-0 win over North Central University in a non-conference matchup in St. Peter on Tuesday night. Tara Houlihan led the Gustie attack with 14 kills and 14 digs.
Coach Kari Eckheart’s squad got off to a quick start and never looked back on their way to a sweep of the North Central Rams. Gustavus won the first game 30-16, the second game 30-17 and the third game 30-24. Joining Houlihan on the attack for Gustavus was first year middle hitter Jamie Moseng who contributed five kills, two service aces and two blocks. The Gusties who lead the MIAC in service aces continued their fine serving against North Central as they recorded 13 aces. Nicole Nesseth and Pat Lawton contributed three aces each.
Gustavus, which improves to 14-4 overall and 12-2 in non-conference contests, has now won 12 consecutive non-conferences matches.
