The Gustavus men’s golf team compiled a score of 291 after one round of golf at the Buena Vista University Classic on Friday. The Gusties are currently in fourth place out of 18 teams, just eight strokes behind leader Nebraska Wesleyan University (283). Friday’s round took place at the Spencer Country Club in Spencer, Iowa. The final round of golf will take place on Saturday at the Lake Creek Country Club in Storm Lake.
Junior Clayton Johnson leads the Gusties with an 18-hole score of 72, which puts him in a tie for 13th place. Brad Smith of Indian Hills Community College leads the competition with a score of 66 after one round of golf.
