The AVCA announced its annual All-Regional awards on Friday, and the Gusties added three more honors to their post-season accolades, as Marlee Turn and Maren Sundberg picked up All-Region honors and Kasie Tweet was named All-Region Honorable Mention.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its annual All-Regional awards on Thursday, and the Gusties added three more honors to their post-season accolades, as Marlee Turn (Jr., Kennedy) and Maren Sundberg (Fy., Eagan) picked up AVCA All-Region honors and Kasie Tweet (Jr., Adrian) was recognized as AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention.

After being named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year and MIAC Playoff MVP, Marlee Turn earned the first All-Region honors of her career. Turn, playing in 102 sets this season, posted 395 kills, notching a hitting percentage of .267 — both team-leading statistics. Turn also added 27 service aces this season, as well as 348 digs, helping her to a team-leading 18 double-doubles.

MIAC Rookie of the Year Maren Sundberg was the foundation of the Gustie defense, playing in all 108 sets for the Gusties, and leading the team in digs. Sundberg posted a team-high 573 this season, and added 30 service aces in her freshman season. Sundberg adds the first All-Region honors of her career to her awards tally, that includes Rookie of the Year honors, three-time MIAC Athlete of the Week, and MIAC All-Conference honors.

Playing in all 108 sets this season, Kasie Tweet, a MIAC All-Conference and All-Playoff Team selection, led the Gusties in assists, eclipsing the 1k-mark for 1042 on the season. Tweet also led the team in service aces, delivering 36 from the line. Currently, Tweet leads the nation in assists in a match after tallying 53 against UW-Eau Claire in the NCAA Regional Quarterfinal, while her 13.25 assists per set is good for third in the nation.

The All-Region selections will now be considered for All-America honors. The AVCA will release its All-America Teams on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
