Men’s Golf Bobby Krig Invite Shortened to One Round Saturday
The Bobby Krig Invite, hosted by Gustavus men's golf and scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Le Sueur Country Club and New Prague Golf Club, has been shortened from a two-day event to one day due to frigid temperatures on Friday. The invitational will now consist of one round on Saturday at New Prague.
Softball Sweeps Macalester 6-2, 10-7
The Gustavus softball team earned its second conference sweep of the season Wednesday, beating Macalester 6-2 in game one before a 10-7 win in the nightcap.
Offensive Onslaught Leads to Sweep Over Auggies
The Gustavus baseball team continued to dominate with a 14-1 game one win and a 17-3 game two win over Augsburg at home on Wednesday afternoon. With the wins, the Gusties improve to 18-4 overall and 7-1 in the MIAC.
17 Gusties Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Wednesday announced the members of the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
Women’s Golf at Bethel on Friday and Saturday Postponed
The Gustavus women's golf team was scheduled to compete at Bethel's Rumble at the Ridge in White Bear Lake on April 15-16 but that event is postponed due to forecasted cold temperatures. The event may be rescheduled at a later date.
Kratz Named MIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week
Emily Kratz (Sr., Edina) earned medalists honors at the Wartburg Spring Invitational on April 9-10, helping the Gusties to a second-place team finish at the event.
Track & Field Lee Krough Invite on Thursday Canceled
Gustavus track & field has canceled its Lee Krough Invite, scheduled for Thursday, April 14, due to forecasted inclement weather. The Gustie men and women are next scheduled to compete at the Carleton Relays on April 23 and then host the Drake Alternative on April 30.
Mocchi Named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week
Ethan Mocchi (Sr., Champlin) went 11-for-19 for a .579 average in six conference games last week. Mocchi drove in 14 runs and crossed home plate seven times as the Gusties went 5-1 in league play. He closed the weekend with a grand slam home run in the team's 17-1 win over Carleton on April 10. For his performance, Mocchi has been named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week.
Softball Drops Two at No. 21 Saint Ben’s
The Gustavus softball team battled in two close games at No. 21-ranked Saint Benedict, but dropped game one 7-4 and game two 4-3. The Gusties fall to 7-13 overall and 2-4 in the MIAC, while the Bennies improve to 18-3 overall and 6-1 in the league.
Women’s Golf Takes Second at Wartburg, Kratz Wins Medalist Honors
The Gustavus women's golf team took second place out of 14 teams Sunday at the Wartburg Spring Invitational. The Gusties shot a 313-317-630 (+70), which was 10 strokes off the leader Bethel.
