Schoenrock, Vrieze Earn MIAC Elite 22 Awards

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recognized some of its best and brightest winter sport student-athletes on Thursday with the announcement of the Elite 22 Awards. Two Gustavus student-athletes received the award as Betsy Schoenrock (Jr., New Richland) is the women’s basketball recipient and Kayla Vrieze (Sr., Eagan) is the women’s hockey recipient.

Baseball vs. Wartburg Moved to Sunday in Saint Peter

The Gustavus baseball team's non-conference doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Wartburg College has been moved to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Gustie Baseball Field due to unplayable field conditions at Wartburg.

Justin DeGrood Named Head Coach of Gustavus Men’s Basketball

Justin DeGrood ’07, the lead assistant coach of Gustavus Adolphus College men’s basketball for the past nine seasons, has been named head coach of the program, the College announced today. 

Women’s Hockey Bends But Doesn’t Break in NCAA Opening Round Victory

Gustavus women's hockey spent more time in its defensive zone than it has in quite some time Wednesday night, but stood tall against a physical UW-Eau Claire squad and came away with a 3-0 victory in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The Gusties, who used two empty net goals in the final two minutes to seal the win, improve to 23-3-2 overall and will travel to UW-River Falls on Saturday for a quarterfinal matchup. 

Four Gusties Selected USTFCCCA Women’s Track & Field All-Region

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season and four Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. 

Women’s Hockey Has Six Named All-Conference, Carroll Coach of the Year

The MIAC announced its 2021-22 women's hockey awards on Monday and six Gustavus student-athletes received All-Conference honors, while Mike Carroll was named MIAC Coach of the Year. All-Conference honors went to Hailey Holland (Jr., Aberdeen, S.D.), Molly McHugh (Jr., Minnetonka), Emily Olson (Jr., Delano), Brooke Power (So., Lakeville), Tina Press (Sr., Cottage Grove), and Kayla Vrieze (Sr., Eagan).

Raut Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Merila Named Judy Kruckman Women’s Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete

MADISON, Wis.-- Brooke Merila of Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) has been selected recipient of the 2022 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Judy Kruckman Women’s Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete Award.

Merila, Redding Qualify for NCGA Championships

The National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) announced the qualifiers for its national meet and two Gustavus student-athletes have been selected. Brooke Merila and Sophia Redding will compete at the NCGA National Championships, held on March 26 at Ithica College in Ithica, New York. 

Three Gusties Qualify for NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the accepted entries to its Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships and three Gustavus student-athletes have qualified.
