Women’s Soccer Ends Season in MIAC Semifinal
The Gustavus women's soccer team ended its season Wednesday afternoon with a 5-0 loss at top-seeded St. Catherine in the MIAC playoff semifinals. The Gusties finish the season 11-9, while boasting a 7-2 record in the final nine games of the season.
Holtan Named MIAC Player of the Year, Embacher Earns Defensive Player of the Year
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) came out with its annual volleyball awards Wednesday, and seniors Kate Holtan (Sr., Rochester) and Hailey Embacher (Sr., Mankato) were awarded the highest honors in the conference. Holtan was named the 2021 Volleyball Player of the Year while Embacher was named Defensive Player of the Year. The all-conference nod is Holtan's fourth and Embacher's second. Joining them in the all-conference lineup is junior Sarah Elliott (Jr., Lombard Ill.).
Men’s Soccer Drops MIAC Quarterfinal in Overtime
SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's soccer team took a 2-1 overtime loss in the MIAC Quarterfinal on Monday to Saint John's. With the loss, the team ends 14-5 overall.
Women’s Soccer Advances to MIAC Semifinals, Shuts Out Augsburg 1-0
Rachel Rehnelt's (Sr., Albert Lea) goal 6:17 into the game proved to be the only score in Monday's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff quarterfinal game as the Gustavus women's soccer team defeated Augsburg 1-0.
