BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its women’s soccer postseason awards Wednesday and five Gusties were recognized. Katie Ashpole (Sr., Chaska) and Page Cocchiarella (Sr., Owatonna) were selected to the All-Conference Team, while Megan King (Jr., Savage) and Rachel Rehnelt (Sr., Albert Lea) were named honorable mention.
Ashpole earns her first All-Conference nod after being named honorable mention in 2019. Ashpole led the Gusties in scoring this season with 15 points on six goals and three assists. She took a team-high 28 shots on goal for a percentage of .571. Ashpole started all 20 games had two game-winning goals.
Cocchiarella also earns her first All-MIAC selection. Cocchiarella was third on the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists. She had a .571 shots on goal percentage on 16 attempts. Cocchiarella also started all 20 games.
King is selected honorable mention for the second time after being recognized in the 2019 season. King started all 20 games and helped the Gustie defense hold opponents two 1.45 goals per game.
Rehnelt is awarded honorable mention for the first time after posting the second most points on the team with 11 on three goals and a team-leading five assists. She started 18 games and had two game-winning goals.
As part of a Conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC also announced the 15th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women’s soccer. Gustavus’s representative is Lydia Arens (Sr., Princeton).
