Aney, Budde Earn At-Large Bid to ITA Cup Men’s Doubles Draw

The Gustavus men's tennis doubles tandem of Nick Aney (Sr., Rochester) and Alex Budde (Jr., Menomonee Falls, Wis.) received an at-large bid to compete at the ITA Cup this week. Aney and Budde are set to face Leach and Lemaitre of George Fox at 4 p.m. Thursday at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga.

Women’s Soccer Impressive in 3-1 Victory Over Augsburg

Two first half goals gave the Gustavus women’s soccer team early momentum which it rode to a 3-1 victory over Augsburg on Tuesday afternoon. The Gusties improve to 6-7 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC, while the Auggies drop to 7-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the league.

Holtan Named MIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Kate Holtan (Sr., Rochester) helped the Gusties to a trio of victories last week against Augsburg, St. Olaf, and UW-La Crosse. Holtan had five aces, passed a 2.5 rating, hit 0.258 with 43 kills, and had 46 digs and four blocks over 11 sets.

Abegglen Named MIAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Andrew Abegglen (Jr., Mound) accounted for nine points in Gustavus' decisive 72-7 victory at St. Scholastica last Saturday, helping the Gusties set a new program record for the widest margin of victory (65).

Men’s Soccer vs. Augsburg Moved to Tuesday, Concordia Game Moved to Oct. 20

The Gustavus men's soccer game vs. Augsburg, originally scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, has been moved to 4 p.m. Tuesday to avoid the forecasted weather on Wednesday. The game will be played on the reserve field located to the north of the baseball field.

Volleyball Wins Two in Home Triangular

The Gustavus volleyball team hosted the St. Olaf Oles and UW-La Crosse Eagles for a trio of matches on Saturday. The Gusties won in their conference match against St. Olaf in a comeback 3-2 win, and in their non-conference match over UW-La Crosse in straight sets. With the win, the Gusties improve to 18-4 overall and 5-1 in the MIAC.

Football Cruises to 72-7 Victory at St. Scholastica

The inaugural meeting between the Gustavus and St. Scholastica football programs proved to be a one-sided affair as the Gusties steamrolled to a 72-7 victory, marking the highest margin of victory in program history. In the process, the Gusties set the school record with 730 total yards.

Late Goal Lifts Women’s Soccer Past Concordia 2-1

Gabriela Rodriguez’ (Fy., Waseca) goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation turned out to be the game-winner as the Gustavus women’s soccer team topped Concordia 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Football Travels to St. Scholastica for First MIAC Divisional Game

The Gustavus football team is set for its first MIAC Northwoods Division game Saturday at the College of St. Scholastica in the inaugural meeting between the two programs. Kickoff from James S. Malosky Stadium on the campus of UM-Duluth is 1 p.m.
