WHEELING, W.V. – Gustavus men’s golfer Jacob Pederson (Jr., Minnetonka) shot a four-over 75 on day two of the NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday. Pedersen is 12 strokes off the lead and is currently tied for 26th out of 173 golfers.
“Played a pretty solid round today except for the par threes,” said Pedersen “Felt like I hit a couple good putts that ended up doing the exact opposite. It was a grind, only hit three drivers and length is usually a big advantage for me. Now that I’ve made the cut, hoping to play a little more loose tomorrow and capitalize where I can.”
In the second round at Speidel Jones Course, Pedersen started with a par and a birdie on the second hole. He was set back with a bogey on the fourth but parred six of the first nine holes and finished two over par at the end of the turn. Pedersen began the back nine with a birdie, a bogey, a second birdie, and two straight pars before hitting a triple bogie. He closed with three straight pars for a 75 (+4).
Pedersen makes the cut sitting at eight over par, and tees off for the third round on Thursday morning at 9:10.
