MANKATO, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team competed in its first outing of the season against Minnesota State-Mankato at North Links.
“The course played extremely difficult today with sustained winds of over 30 miles an hour,” said Assistant Coach Randall Stuckey. “It was only our second day outside so we’re just starting to get a feel for our games. The things that we could control; our attitudes, effort, and commitment, were very good. I really think we will be playing at a much higher level at our second tournament next weekend.”
Erin Ericson (Jr., Onalaska, Wis.) and Emily Kratz (Jr., Edina) kept the Gusties on top both finishing first with a score of 84. Sydney Regaldo (Jr., Rosemount) placed fifth, tallying 90 in her first round of the season. Laurel Ward (So., Bozeman, Mont.) recorded a 91 and Hannah Hubbart (So., Hastings) and Kristin Martens (So., Sartell) rounded out the scores both shooting 95.
Gustavus competes next at Emerald Greens on April 10th.
