The Gustavus men’s basketball team had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds Wednesday night at Carleton, but wound up losing 70-69. The Gusties are now 8-13 overall and 8-8 in the MIAC, while the Knights improve to 9-12 overall and 6-10 in the league.

Rachel Thate (Jr., North Mankato) competed in seven events at the two-day Minnesota Challenge last weekend, winning two individual events.

Rooney, Steinberg Named January Student-Athletes of the Month

Men’s track and field student-athlete Taylor Rooney (Jr., Andover) and women’s diver Sophia Steinberg (Jr., Faribault) have been named Gustavus Male and Female Student-Athletes of the Month, which is voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department and presented by Thrivent Financial.

Anderson Named MIAC Men’s Hockey Athlete of the Week

Caleb Anderson (Jr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) had a five-point weekend for Gustavus in its weekend series with Hamline. For his performance, Anderson has been named MIAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week.

Men’s Hockey Settles for a Series Split Against Hamline

The Gustavus men's hockey team suffered a 2-1 loss against Hamline Saturday. With the loss the Gusties fall to 9-7-3 overall and 5-3-2 in the conference while the Pipers move to 4-13-4 and 2-7-3 in the MIAC.

Swim & Dive Competes at Minnesota Challenge

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim & dive teams competed at the Minnesota Challenge on Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota. The eight-team MIAC meet also included Carleton, Hamline, Saint Benedict, Saint John’s, St. Catherine, St. Olaf, and St. Thomas.

Track and Field Finishes Up at Mark Schuck Open

The Gustavus men's and women's track and field teams finished competition at the loaded field at the Mark Schuck Open at MSU-Mankato Saturday with the men taking sixth of 12 teams and the women taking seventh of 16 teams. Of the teams involved there were 10 Division II schools, to go along with four Division III schools, and one junior college.

St. Thomas Tops Women’s Basketball 68-67

The No. 23 Gustavus women's basketball team played down to the wire with No. 17 St. Thomas, falling 68-67 at Gus Young Court Saturday. With the loss the Gusties fall to 14-5 overall and 10-4 in the MIAC while the Tommies move to 15-4 overall and 11-3 in the league.
