NEW ORLEANS, La. – Taylor Rooney kicked off 2020 winning the 60m hurdles in the MSU-Invite and earning USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week Honors with a time of 8.10. Rooney leads Division III with a top time of 8.03 from the Chuck Peterson Invitational in early December, and is the only athlete who has went sub-8.10 this season, which he has done four times. Last year no man went sub-8.10 more than three times. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from Gustavus has been named National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season. Rooney was also named MIAC Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
