Men’s Hoops Strong in Overtime, Beats Hamline 88-81

After finishing its last game with a whimper, the Gustavus men’s basketball team ended Wednesday night’s game with a bang, defeating Hamline 88-81 in overtime. The Gusties, now 2-3 overall, overcame six lead changes and seven ties to remain unbeaten in the MIAC at 2-0, while the Pipers drop to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Women’s Basketball Tops Hamline 76-57

Ava Gonsorowski (Jr., Esko) posted a career-high 23 points, all in the first three quarters, as the Gustavus women's basketball team defeated Hamline 76-57. With the win the Gusties improve to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC while the Pipers fall to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.

Men’s Basketball Hosts Hamline Wednesday Night

The Gustavus men’s basketball team returns to conference action Wednesday night, playing host to Hamline at 7 p.m. The Gusties enter the contest 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Pipers are 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Women’s Basketball Travels to Hamline Wednesday

The Gustavus women's basketball team will travel to St. Paul Wednesday to take on Hamline in a 7 p.m. contest. The Gusties enter the contest 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC while the Pipers are 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

Four Gusties Named United Soccer Coaches All-North Region

United Soccer Coaches released its All-Region Teams on Monday and four Gustavus men’s soccer players were named to the All-North Region Teams. Midfielder Matt Gibbons (Jr., Minneapolis), goalkeeper Wesley Sanders (Fy., Urbandale, Iowa), and forward Cole Schwartz (So., Jakarta, Indonesia) on are on the first team, while Raphael Cattelin (Fy., Edina, Minn.) received Third Team honors.
