The Gustavus men’s basketball team lost its first conference game of the season Saturday, falling 90-66 at No. 5-ranked St. Thomas. The Gusties drop to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC, while the Tommies improve to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.
Men’s Swim & Dive in First After Pioneer Classic Opening Session, Women Second
The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim & dive teams got off to a solid start at Grinnell’s Pioneer Classic on Friday. The Gustie men sit in first place after the first session with a score of 530.5 – nearly 250 more points than the second place team – while the women are one point off the lead with 372 points.

The No. 4 Gustavus women’s hockey team’s seven-game unbeaten streak came to end Friday night at Saint Mary’s with a 2-2 tie. The Gusties move to 7-0-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the MIAC, while the Cardinals are now 2-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the league.

United Soccer Coaches released its NCAA Division III All-America Teams on Thursday and Gustavus men’s soccer forward Cole Schwartz (So., Jakarta, Indonesia) is recognized as a First Team member.
Winter, Larson Named November Student-Athletes of the Month
Women’s cross country runner Tierney Winter (Sr., Waterville) and men’s swimmer Nolan Larson (Jr., West Des Moines, Iowa) have been named Gustavus Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Month, which is voted on by the Gustavus Sports Information Department and presented by Thrivent Financial.
