BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker) led the Gustavus football team to a 59-27 win at Augsburg Saturday, tying a school and MIAC record with seven touchdowns in the contest. The Becker native finished Saturday’s matchup 19-of-23 with 317 yards and seven touchdowns, with six coming in the first half. He has been responsible for 188 Gustavus points this season, which ranks second in the NCAA, while his 26 passing touchdowns are fourth and his 323.3 yards per game is sixth. Veldman is the only quarterback in the Division III this season to have thrown for at least three touchdowns in each of his team’s contests.
