Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual academic awards Thursday and both the Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field programs have been named All-Academic Teams.
Stockwell Signs Professional Baseball Contract with Sioux Falls
Recent Gustavus graduate and baseball pitcher Adam Stockwell `19 (Apple Valley, Minn.) today will sign a contract with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Stockwell will arrive in Sioux Falls today and is likely to pitch in tonight’s home game against the Kansas City T-Bones, which starts at 7:05 p.m. at the 51-year old Sioux Falls Stadium.
Pair of Men’s Basketball Players Compete in Spain
Men's basketball rising sophomores Nolan Malo (Owatonna, Minn.) and Marten Morem (Caledonia, Minn.) traveled to Spain recently and competed in four games as well as doing some sightseeing within the European country.
Gymnasts Named to WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Scholastic Honor Roll recipients for the 2018-19 academic year and 16 Gustavus gymnasts received recognition.
Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its recipients of the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 academic year and Gustavus is one of 175 Division III teams to earn the award. This is the third consecutive year the Gusties have been recognized with the AVCA Team Academic Award.
Swim & Dive Teams Named CSCAA Scholar All-America
The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named the Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving teams to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 Semester.
Tennis Teams Earn ITA All-Academic Honors
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently announced its 2019 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes with both the Gustavus men’s and women’s teams receiving recognition. This year the Intercollegiate Tennis Association saw an increase in qualifying teams and scholar-athletes. All-Academic honors were awarded to 940 teams and thousands of scholar-athletes.
Women’s Golf Earns WGCA All-Scholar Top 25
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for each NCAA division and Gustavus comes in at No. 16 in Division III with a 3.635 GPA.
Ericson, Kratz, Regalado Named WGCA All-American Scholars
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced Monday with a total of 1,097 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor including three Gustavus student-athletes.
MIAC Selects Holtan as NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee
Recent Gustavus graduate Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn.) has advanced one more step in the nomination process for the 2019 NCAA Woman of the Year. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced Monday that Holtan is one of two former student-athletes to serve as the league’s nominees, joining Carleton’s Ziyi Wang.
