Olson-Sola Named Outstanding Field Athlete, Seven More Join on All-MIAC Team

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its women’s track & field postseason awards Thursday and eight Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Annalee Olson-Sola (Fy., Northfield, Minn.) was named Outstanding Field Athlete, while Katie Keelin (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.), Bailey Van Den Heuvel (Sr., Mondovi, Wis.), Kourtney Kulseth (So., New Richland, Minn.), Sara Moen (So., Blaine, Minn.), Josie Blake (So., Waukegan, Ill.), Tierney Winter (Jr., Waterville, Minn.), and Abigail Schnabel (Sr., Hamburg, Minn.) earned All-Conference as well.

To be awarded All-Conference, individuals must place in the top-three in their respective events at the MIAC Championships.

Olson-Sola had an impressive rookie showing at the MIAC Championships, winning the shot put at 42-8 and taking second in the discus with a throw of 128-11.

The Gusties finished one-two in the hammer throw as Keelin won the event with a toss of 167-0 and Van Den Heuvel was next at 165-2.

The 4×800 relay team of Moen, Blake, Winter, and Schnabel won the race with a school record time of 9:21.40.

Kulseth took third in the 3000 steeplechase, clocking in at 11:26.55.

Elizabeth Kveback (So., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
