The Gustavus men’s track & field team Saturday took second the Carleton Relays with 165 points, 34 shy of first place Minnesota-Duluth (Division II). Michael Hensch (Sr., North Branch, Minn.) and Taylor Rooney (So., Andover, Minn.) both had breaking-setting performances.

Men’s Golf in Fourth of 19 Teams After Day One in Decatur

After day one of competition at the Take Back the Night Challenge, the Gustavus men’s golf team currently sits in fourth place of 19 teams. The Gusties posted a score of 315 in round one which trails the leader Illinois Wesleyan by 15 strokes.

Women’s Golf in Fourth After Day One at Royal Match

The Gustavus women’s golf team was back in action as Bethel hosted the 2019 Royal Match at Deer Run Golf Club on Friday. After day one of competition the Gusties are in fourth place of eight teams with a score of 322. The leaders, St. Catherine and Saint Benedict, currently both sit at 316.

The Gustavus softball team hosted Hamline Friday afternoon and dropped the first contest 4-2 before falling in game two 6-4. With the results the Gusties move to 14-18 on the season and 5-13 in MIAC play.

Baseball Claims First MIAC Sweep of Season Over Concordia

The Gustavus baseball team Thursday claimed its first MIAC sweep of the season with a pair of victories over Concordia. Cole Pengilly (So., Le Sueur, Minn.) hit a two-run walkoff home run in game one and Charlie Hutchinson (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) tossed a complete game four-hitter in game two for the sweep.

Baseball Schedule Update: Resumption of St. Thomas Game Moved to Monday

The Gustavus baseball team will host Concordia for a doubleheader at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and travel to Carleton for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday. Tuesday’s Gustavus vs. St. Thomas game that was suspended after 10 innings due to darkness will resume at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Gustie Baseball Field.

The Gustavus softball team traveled to Macalester on Tuesday afternoon and split a pair of contests, losing game one 2-1 before taking game two 6-4. With the results the Gusties move to 14-16 overall and 5-11 in the MIAC.

Baseball Drops One to St. Thomas, Game Two Suspended Due to Darkness

The Gustavus baseball team Tuesday lost 6-0 to St. Thomas in the opener of a doubleheader and game two was suspended after the 10th inning tied 5-5 due to darkness. The game will pick up at a later date in the top of the 11th with the Tommies coming to bat.

Softball Set for a Pair of Doubleheaders This Week

[SCHEDULE UPDATED 4/16, 11:30 a.m.] The Gustavus softball team will travel to Macalester on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Hamline on Friday for a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader start. Friday’s doubleheader was originally scheduled for Wednesday but pushed back due to the forecasted rain.
