DECATUR, Ill. – The Gustavus men’s golf team competed in the final day of the Take Back the Night Challenge and finished sixth of 19 team with a final score of 624. Illinois Wesleyan won the event with a 589.
“Today was another challenging day with the wind and we didn’t strike the ball well enough,” said Assistant Coach Randy Stuckey. “As it was yesterday, our short game needs to improve and we look forward to getting back and having an opportunty for practice. There was very good effort and steadiness of demeanor which is always nice to see.”
Ben Hauge (Jr., Ramsey, Minn) carded a 74 to lead the Gusties on day two whlie Max Ullan (So., Blaine, Minn.) and Jacob Pedersen (Fy., Minnetonka, Minn.) both carded 78. Ullan led the Gusties with a two day total of 154 which tied him for 16th overall. Carter Czichotzki (So., Moorhead, Minn.) and Thomas Carlson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) finished with scores of 79.
