BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s hockey postseason awards Monday and two Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Robbie Goor (So., Anoka, Minn.) earned All-Conference honorable mention and Toby Sengvongxay (Fy., Luverne, Minn.) was named to the All-Rookie Team.

An All-Rookie Team member last year, Goor finished his sophomore campaign with a 1.92 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in nearly 700 minutes of action. Goor caught fire at the end of the season, allowing just one goal in each of his last four games, highlighted by a 3-1 victory over then-No. 4 Augsburg where he made 32 saves. Goor made 293 saves and tallied a 3-8-0 record.

Sengvongxay was a staple on the Gustie blue line, playing in all 25 games this season. He posted six goals and six assists for 12 points, which was third best on the team. The Luverne native played disciplined hockey with just one penalty called against him all season. Sengvongxay’s best game of the season was Nov. 17 against Hamline as he tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-2 victory at Don Roberts Ice Rink. He finished the season with a -5 rating and .082 shot percentage. Of his six goals, two were empty-net, one on the power play, one short-handed, and one game-winner. Sengvongxay was also named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Augsburg goalie Nick Schmit was named MIAC Player of the Year and Augsburg’s Chris Brown was named Coach of the Year.
