Men’s Hockey Heads to Wisconsin This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to travel to UW-Superior for a faceoff on Friday and UW-Stout on Saturday. Puck-drop is 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. The Gusties and UW-Superior both own a 1-2-1 record, while Stout stands at 2-2. Gustavus tied (3-3) and lost (1-2) to St. Olaf in its most recent contests.

Amanda DiNella Named D3Hockey.com Goaltender of the Week

After being named MIAC Goaltender of the week earlier this week, Amanda DiNella (Sr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) was named to the D3hockey.com team of the week today for her performance against UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.

Holtan, Sherden Highlight AVCA Central Region Awards

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its Division III Regional Awards on Thursday and Gustavus volleyball is well represented with the top two honors in the Central Region. Rachelle Sherden is the Central Region Coach of the Year and Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) is the Central Region Player of the Year. Kate Holtan (So., Rochester, Minn.) and Brittany Luethmers (Sr., Prior Lake, Minn.) join Nora on the All-Region Team.

Volleyball Set for NCAA Regional Competition This Weekend

The No. 8 Gustavus volleyball team is set to host a NCAA Division III regional this weekend and opens the tournament at 8 p.m. Friday against Minnesota-Morris. The Gusties (27-2) earned an automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament by winning the MIAC playoffs, while UM-Morris (21-11) also earned an automatic qualifier by winning the UMAC playoffs.

Laurich Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The 2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Teams are released and Gustavus junior Luke Laurich (Batavia, Ill.) is named to the 12-member District 6 Team, which features student-athletes from institutions in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Amanda DiNella Named Women’s Hockey Athlete of the Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Women’s Hockey Athlete of the Week on Monday and Gustavus goalie Amanda DiNella (Sr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) was recognized with the award.

Panning Garners Second MIAC Football Athlete of the Week Honor

Brice Panning (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) hauled in six catches for a career-high 158 yards as Gustavus nearly knocked off No. 7-ranked St. Thomas in a 14-13 loss over the weekend. Five of Panning's catches went for first downs, highlighted by three catches of 30-plus yards, including a career-long 58-yard reception.

Men’s Soccer Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men’s soccer team Monday was selected as an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. The Gusties, winners of the MIAC regular season championship, will compete in the Decorah, Iowa Regional, hosted by Luther and will take on Dominican (Ill.) in the first round on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Gustavus Selected to Host NCAA Volleyball Regional

For the first time since adopting an eight-team regional format, Gustavus Adolphus College has been selected as a host site for a NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Regional. As the No. 1 seed in the Central Region and No. 8 team in the latest AVCA poll, Gustavus will host an eight-team regional Friday through Sunday at Gus Young Court inside the Lund Center in Saint Peter, Minn.
