BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swim and dive team each had an athlete represented as a MIAC Athlete of the Week for their performances this weekend at the Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invite. Maggie Webster (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) took home the honors for the women, while Josh Muntifering (So., Buffalo, Minn.) garnered the award for the men. Webster competed in five events this past weekend, coming in first in four of them to help propel the Gusties to a first place team finish. She placed first in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle, while also helping the 200 yard medley relay and 200 yard freestyle relay teams to victories. Just one week after being victorious in the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley, Muntifering showed his versatility by winning the 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard individual medley. He also helped the 200 yard medley relay team to a victory for three total wins on the day which helped leaded the Gustie men to a win. His time in the 400 yard IM of 4:18.55 ranks second in the MIAC this season.
