Skogseth named MIAC Women’s Soccer All-Conference

The Gustavus women’s soccer team had one player receive All-conference honors as Emily Skogseth (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) was named to the team which was released on Friday morning.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s soccer team had one player receive All-conference honors as Emily Skogseth (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) was named to the team which was released on Friday morning. Chase Miller (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Lauren Johnson (So., Woodbury, Minn.) were named honorable mention.

Skogseth was insturmental in the Gustie attack this season scoring 13 points on the season off of four goals and five assists. She recorded one game-winning goal on the season when the Gusties defeated Nebraska Wesleyan on Sep. 8 by a score of 1-0. The senior midfielder led the team in shots with 47 and shots on goal with 23.

Miller and Johnson, two other Gustie midfielders both received honorable mention honors tallying 12 and five points respectively on the season. Miller notched five goals and two assists while Johnson scored two goals and assisted in one goal.

St. Thomas, the only MIAC team in the NCAA tournament, took home three of the four top honors as Mallory DeBoom was named Offensive Player of the Year, Tess Baier was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Sheila McGill was named Coach of the Year. Bethel’s Rachel Waterman rounded out the awards receiving Rookie of the Year.
