WHITEWATER, Wis. – The No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team won its eighth consecutive match Friday night at the UW-Whitewater Dig Panici Classic with a four-set victory over UW-Stevens Point. The Gusties won by set scores of 26-24, 23-25, 25-23, and 25-23 to improve to 16-2 overall.

Lauren Hanson (Sr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) was efficient on the attack, posting 14 kills and a .324 hitting percentage. Kaikea Welsch (Fy., Kansas City, Mo.) tied her season high with 10 kills along with a .308 hitting clip. The Gusties have two matches tomorrow – 10 a.m. against UW-La Crosse and noon against UW-Whitewater.
“Tomorrow we need energy and communication from the start and continue to play our game,” Sherden said. “Bringing out a gritty mindset from the get-go to compete against two tough opponents back to back.”
