SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustie women’s soccer team will be back in action Wednesday at the Gustie Soccer Field for a 4 p.m. conference match versus Carleton. The Gusties enter the contest 4-2 with a 1-0 record in the MIAC while the Knights are 4-1-1 and 1-0 in MIAC play.
Scouting the Gusties: The Gusties are on a two game win streak and have been led this season on offense by Abby Mullenbach (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) who has eight points on three goals and two assists. Chase Miller (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Emily Skogseth (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) have also been playing well offensively for the Gusties with Miller scoring three goals, and Skogseth recording two goals and two assists. Abby Goodno (Fy., Little Canada, Minn.) has gotten four starts in goal for the Gusties and recorded 27 saves en route to a 3-1 record.
Scouting the Knights: The Knights have seen a lot of success this season starting the year 4-0-1 and saw themselves ranked No. 24 in the nation last week, before a loss to Wartburg on Sunday knocked them out of the top 25. The Knights have been effective on both ends of the pitch this season outscoring opponents by a tally of 10-2. The Knights are led offensively by Nora Mertz who has tallied four goals on the season for a total of eight points. The Knights have seen six other women all score one goal apiece to round out there scoring. Anna Roethler has started all six games in net for the Knights posting 27 saves with a save percentage of .931.
