    Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

    The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its annual academic awards Thursday and both the Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field programs have been named All-Academic Teams. Additionally, Marisa Morgan (Rockford, Ill.) earned All-Academic status as an individual.

    Women’s Tennis Boasts 10 ITA Scholar-Athletes, Named All-Academic Team

    The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its 2018 academic awards and the Gustavus women’s tennis team has 10 ITA Scholar-Athletes to comprise an All-Academic Team. Of 128 Division III teams that earned All-Academic Team status, Gustavus is one of nine programs to have at least 10 Scholar-Athletes.

    Men’s Tennis Boasts 11 ITA Scholar-Athletes, Named All-Academic Team

    The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its 2018 academic awards and the Gustavus men’s tennis team has 11 ITA Scholar-Athletes to comprise an All-Academic Team. Of 95 Division III teams that earned All-Academic Team status, Gustavus is one of eight programs to have at least 11 Scholar-Athletes.

    Volleyball Receives AVCA Team Academic Award

    The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its recipients of the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 academic year and Gustavus is one of 173 Division III teams to earn the award. This is the second consecutive year the Gusties have been recognized with the AVCA Team Academic Award. 

  • Men’s Golf Achieves GCAA All-Academic Team Status

    Men’s Golf Achieves GCAA All-Academic Team Status

    The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) recently released its annual academic awards and Gustavus men’s golf achieved 18Birdies All-Academic Team status. The Gusties are one of 34 Division III men’s teams to receive the recognition, which applies to teams with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

    Steinwand Awarded Prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced its 2018 spring sports postgraduate scholarship winners and recently graduated Gustavus men’s tennis player Gabe Steinwand (Moorhead, Minn.) was one of 29 student-athletes out of all three divisions to receive the prestigious scholarship.

    Leininger Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year Award

    Recent Gustavus Adolphus College graduate Sophie Leininger (Plymouth, Minn.) has been selected as a candidate for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Leininger was a four-year starter for the Gustavus women’s soccer team and the NCAA Woman of the Year nomination adds to a long list of accolades for the Wayzata product.

    The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for each NCAA division and Gustavus comes in at No. 25 in Division III with a 3.415 GPA.     61 Gusties Named 2017-18 MIAC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference

    Student-athletes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) continue to achieve in both athletics and in the classroom. For the third consecutive year, the MIAC has recognized more than 1,000 student-athletes with Academic All-Conference honors with 61 Gustavus student-athletes receiving the distinction.
