CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Wednesday named Gustavus senior McKenzie Swenson (Buffalo, Minn.) as a member of the All-Midwest Region Team. This is the second time Swenson receives the recognition after earning it during her first year as well.

Swenson finished her senior season leading the team with a 79.4-stroke average after 17 rounds. She finished in the top-10 five times, including four top-fives, and one medalist honor at the Georgianni Blugold Invite on Sept. 10. At the MIAC Championships in October, Swenson’s second round 73 was a career-best and tied for the seventh lowest round in program history.

The WGCA, which represents over 500 coaches throughout the United States, is comprised of five regions, with each naming 10 members to their All-Region squad. Selection to the All-Region teams are made by committee members, who consider the full length of the playing season, scoring average, strength of schedule, head-to-head matchups and tournament placing.
