MIAC Announces Softball Playoff Format Change For 2018 Posted on April 23rd, 2018 by

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Due to the impact of inclement weather on the 2018 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball season, MIAC athletic directors voted to approve an immediate change to the Conference Playoffs schedule on Monday.

Similar to this year’s MIAC Baseball Playoffs, the 2018 MIAC Softball Playoffs will now expand to a six-team field, with single game play-in games scheduled for Thursday, May 3. The winners of those games with advance to a four-team, double-elimination Playoff held Friday-Sunday. Play-in games will be contested at the site of the high seeds, while the top overall seed in the Playoffs will retain first priority to host the entirety of the double-elimination rounds.
