Women’s Golf In Seventh Place After Day One At Wartburg Invite

After day one at the Wartburg College Women’s Spring Invite, the Gustavus women’s golf team is in seventh place out of 12 teams. The Gusties fired a first round total of 332, which is 11 strokes behind the leader Carleton.

WAVERLY, Iowa – After day one at the Wartburg College Women’s Spring Invite, the Gustavus women’s golf team is in seventh place out of 12 teams. The Gusties fired a first round total of 332, which is 11 strokes behind the leader Carleton.

McKenzie Swenson (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) led the Gusties with a six-over par 78 and is tied for seventh place. The leader, Brooke Klostermann of Wartburg, carded a three-under 69. Jessica Nelson (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) is tied for 16th with an 81. Morgan Bleyhl (So., Elk River, Minn.) is tied for 29th at 86, Ellie Brandt (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) is tied for 33rd at 87, and Kennedy Sommerfeld (Jr., Litchfield, Minn.) is tied for 40th at 88.

The two-round invitational concludes tomorrow.
