Women’s Swimmers Finish Top-25 In Two Events At NCAA Championships Posted on March 21st, 2018 by

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships began Wednesday and the Gustavus women competed in two events. Kate Reilly (Sr., Hastings, Minn.) and Maggie Webster (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) raced in the 50 freestyle, while Kennedy Holwerda (Sr., Willmar, Minn.), Reilly, Webster, and Maddy Westendorp (So., St. Michael, Minn.) competed in the 200 medley relay.

Webster finish 11th in the 50 free with a time of 23.53, earning All-America Honorable Mention status. She clocked a 23.43 in the prelims to be seeded 12th. Reilly touched the prelim wall in 23.68 to take 20th.

The 200 medley relay team posted a time of 1:46.62 in the trials to place 25th.

On Thursday, the 200 freestyle relay team of Holwerda, Alyssa Lokensgard (So., St. Peter, Minn.), Reilly, and Webster will compete. The event is scheduled second in both the prelims and finals, which start at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Gusties are ranked fifth with a season-best time of 1:33.73.
