ST. PETER, Minn. – McKayla Stowell (Jr., Le Sueur, Minn.) is set to represent the Gustavus women’s track & field team at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.
Stowell will compete in the 60-meter dash, seeded 17th at 7.76. She set her career-best time of 7.76 at the Maverick Invite in Mankato, Minn. en route to earning the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week accolade Feb. 20.
A recent USTFCCCA All-Region honoree, Stowell also received MIAC All-Conference honors, finishing third in the 60-meter dash at the Indoor Championships with a time of 7.80.
The 60 meters preliminary round are scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. on Friday from the Birmingham CrossPlex on the campus of Birmingham Southern College, followed by the finals at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday.
