Amanda DiNella Named MIAC Women’s Hockey Athlete Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week on Monday and Gustavus goalie Amanda DiNella (Jr., Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) was recognized with the award. DiNella allowed only one goal in a two-game series at Concordia as Gustavus swept the Cobbers over the weekend.

Men’s Track & Field Takes Second At CSB-SJU Invite

The Gustavus men’s track & field team took second of nine teams at the CSB-SJU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Gusties scored 110 points, which was 34 points behind host Saint John's. Concordia-Moorhead took third place with 93 points.

Women’s Track & Field Earns Silver At CSB-SJU Invite

The Gustavus women’s track & field team took second of nine teams at the CSB-SJU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Gusties scored 117 points, which was 29 points behind host Saint Benedict. Concordia-Moorhead took third place with 70 points.

Gymnastics Drops WIAC Home Dual Meet To UW-Oshkosh

The Gustavus gymnastics team lost a home Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet Saturday afternoon at the Sponberg Gymnastics Studio, falling 183.425-179.875 to UW-Oshkosh. The Gusties’ best event was the vault were they scored a season-high 46.575. They also tallied 45.675 on the floor, 44.000 on the bars, and 43.625 on the beam.

Men’s Hockey Bounces Back With 5-1 Win Over Concordia, Taking Series Split

The Gustavus men’s hockey team took care of business Saturday afternoon in a justifiably must-win game in the MIAC playoff race, defeating Concordia 5-1 to salvage a series split. The win gives the Gusties 24 points in the league standings, three behind third-place Saint John’s and now four ahead of fifth-place Concordia.

Women’s Hoops Earns 77-60 Senior Day Victory Over Bethel

The Gustavus women's basketball team gained a 42-33 halftime lead and didn't look back, defeating Bethel University for a series split Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court during Senior Day. 

Women’s Hockey Completes Sweep Over Concordia, Wins 4-1

The shutout streak is over but the winning streak continues as the Gustavus women’s hockey team completed the series sweep over Concordia Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 victory. The lone goal allowed ended a streak of four consecutive shutouts for the Gusties, but they were able to score four goals in the second period to improve to 17-2-4 overall and 11-2-3 in the MIAC.

Men’s Basketball Suffers 70-69 Loss Versus Bethel

The Gustavus men's basketball team had a 10-point lead dwindle in the second half as Bethel University stole a 70-69 victory Saturday afternoon at Gus Young Court, taking away the Gustie playoff hopes while earning a series sweep.

Women’s Hockey Notches Fourth-Straight Shutout, 3-0 Over Concordia

For the fourth consecutive game, the Gustavus women’s hockey team shut out its opponent, blanking Concordia 3-0 on Friday night. The No. 6-ranked Gusties recorded their eighth shutout of the season, improving to 16-2-4 overall and 10-2-3 in the MIAC, while the Cobbers fall to 9-10-3 overall and 6-6-3 in the league. The four consecutive shutouts mark the longest streak by the Gusties since the 2009-10 season.

Men’s Hockey Drops Series Opener Versus Concordia, 4-2

The Gustavus men's hockey team opened a two-game home series versus Concordia College Friday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink, falling 4-2 after giving up three unanswered goals against the Cobbers.
