COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s track & field team took second of nine teams at the CSB-SJU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Gusties scored 117 points, which was 29 points behind host Saint Benedict. Concordia-Moorhead took third place with 70 points.
“It’s still kind of early in the season and we’re moving people around to see what events are going to be best for them, but it’s fun to see everyone go out and compete hard, and get rewarded with some first-place finishes,” Head Coach Dale Bahr said. “Sometimes I don’t give the team enough credit because I’m looking if we’re at the top, but we beat some pretty good teams today and that was fun to see.
“We’re heavily loaded as a young team and to see us go into this meet and take a bunch of first- and second-place finishes was very encouraging.”
