ST. PETER, Minn. – The No. 6-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey team plays an away series this weekend at Concordia. Friday’s game at the Moorhead Youth Hockey Arena begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s game starts at 2 p.m. The Gusties enter the series 15-2-4 overall and 9-2-3 in the MIAC, while the Cobbers are 9-9-3 overall and 6-5-3 in the league.

Last time out: The Gusties shut out St. Catherine 3-0 in both games of the series last weekend. Allie Stanger scored a power play goal in Friday’s game that proved to be the game-winner. Diana Draayer scored her second shorthanded goal of the season and Kaitlyn Klein put in an empty-netter to seal the win. Amanda DiNella made 12 saves in the shutout. On Saturday, Kristen Cash scored the game-winner in the first period, followed by goals from Klein and Erica Power. DiNella made 15 saves for her third-straight shutout.
Racking up the points: Kaitlyn Klein enters the weekend with 19 goals and 31 points, which rank second and fourth, respectively, in the MIAC. Klein is the first Gustavus women’s hockey player to record at least 30 points since Lindsey Hjelm (30) in the 2012-13 season and the first to post at least 19 goals since Allie Schwab (25) in the 2011-12 season.
Climbing the ranks: Amanda DiNella recorded her 13th career shutout last Saturday, surpassing Lindsey Hibbard (2012-16) for second place in career shutouts in program history. DiNella is also one of three Gustavus goalies to post at least 1,000 saves. DiNella currently has 1,079 saves behind Hibbard (1,193) and record holder Danielle Justice (1,316).
