Trio Of Cross Country Student-Athletes Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2017 Cross Country All-Academic individuals Friday afternoon and Gustavus student-athletes Andrew Stumbo (Fy., Boone, Iowa), Sarah Anderson (So., Roseville, Minn.), and Abigail Schnabel (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) were recognized with the honor.

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2017 Cross Country All-Academic individuals Friday afternoon and Gustavus student-athletes Andrew Stumbo (Fy., Boone, Iowa), Sarah Anderson (So., Roseville, Minn.), and Abigail Schnabel (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) were recognized with the honor.

There were 668 student-athletes named USTFCCCA All-Academic with women accounting for 55 percent of that total number (368). In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.

Stumbo finished the NCAA Central Region meet in 38th place with a time of 26:03.9 and holds a 3.44 GPA. Anderson took 45th in 23:19.4 and has a 3.92 GPA, and Schnabel finished 43rd in 23:17.8 and has a 3.33 GPA.
