Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins Grace Goblirsch Invite

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 786 points for first place. St. Catherine took second place with 552 points and Macalester placed third at 458. Gustavus won nine individual events and two relays.

The Gustavus men’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 861 points for first place, while Morningside College took second with 497 points, edging Macalester with 480. Gustavus won eight individual events and three relays.

Women’s Hockey Earns Series Split, Defeats Hamline 4-2 On Alumni Day

The Gustavus women’s hockey team rebounded after a tough loss last night, earning a 4-2 victory over Hamline on Saturday to split the regular season series. The Gusties scored three goals in the first period and held off a late rally by the Pipers to improve to 4-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Sadie Klug Takes 64th At NCAA Cross Country Championships

Gustavus senior cross country runner Sadie Klug (Waseca, Minn.) competed at the NCAA Championships Saturday, hosted by Principia College, and took 64th place (out of 279 runners) with a career-best time of 21:57.8. Klug’s time is the ninth best 6K finish in program history as the top eight times are all owned by Hailey Harren ’07, who won the NCAA individual championship in 2005 with a time of 21:52.9.

Men’s Hoops Drops Season Opener In Overtime

The Gustavus men's basketball team opened its 2017-18 season with a 70-66 overtime loss against the Illinois Institute of Technology at the North Park University Invitational. 

Men’s Hockey Scores Five Unanswered To Take Down Hamline

Down two goals early in the game, the Gustavus men's hockey team came back to score five unanswered goals in a 5-2 victory during the opening series against Hamline University Friday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink. 

Women’s Hockey Upset 5-2 At Hamline

The No. 7 Gustavus women’s hockey team was upset 5-2 Friday night at Hamline University, dropping its first game of the season to move to 3-1-1 overall and 2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Swimming & Diving Hosts Fourth Annual Race For Grace Saturday

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are set to host the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday at the Vic Gustafson Pool. The Race For Grace honors former Gustie swimmer Grace Goblirsch who passed away on August 23, 2013 after fighting a courageous eight-month battle with acute myelogenous leukemia.

Volleyball’s NCAA Run Ends At Elite 8

The Gustavus volleyball team's memorable NCAA tournament run came to end Thursday in the national quarterfinals, losing in four sets to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Gusties won the first set convincingly 25-16, but dropped the next three 25-17, 25-16, and 25-14 to end their season with a 26-7 overall record. 

Casey Decker Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Football Teams were released Thursday and Gustavus co-captain linebacker and punter Casey Decker (Sr., Mapleton, Minn.) was named to the District 6 Team, which features student-athletes of institutions from Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
