Nora Holtan Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Volleyball Teams were released Thursday and Gustavus junior setter Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn.) was named to the seven-member District 6 Team, which features student-athletes of institutions from Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Hartmann Ranks Fifth In ITA Opening Rankings

Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the first Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division III National Singles and Doubles Rankings of the 2017-18 season recently, with Gustavus women’s tennis player Briana Hartmann (Jr., Owatonna, Minn.) ranking fifth nationally and second regionally.

Sadie Klug (Sr., Waseca, Minn.) is set to represent Gustavus women's cross country at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships Saturday in Elsah, Ill. at Principia College. 

Men’s Basketball Tips Off 2017-18 Season At North Park Invite

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to begin its 2017-18 campaign this weekend at the North Park University Invite in Chicago, Ill. with games against Illinois Institute of Technology and Blackburn College.

Men’s Hockey Looks Ahead To Hamline Series

The Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to head back into Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, taking on Hamline University. The Gusties (2-3-1, 1-1 MIAC) host the Pipers (3-2, 1-0 MIAC) on Friday prior to Hamline hosting on Saturday. 

No. 7 Women’s Hockey Set For Hamline Series

The No. 7-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend, taking on Hamline University. Friday’s game in St. Paul begins at 7:15 p.m., while Saturday’s game at Don Roberts Ice Rink starts at 2 p.m. The Gusties most recently opened conference action last weekend with a sweep over St. Olaf College, moving to 3-0-1 overall. The Pipers also opened MIAC play with a series sweep, earning two wins over Saint Benedict to improve their record to 3-1 overall.

Women’s Basketball Holds Off Buena Vista 80-73 In Season Opener

The No. 16 ranked Gustavus women’s basketball team started the season on the right foot Wednesday, defeating Buena Vista University 80-73. The Gusties erased a first half deficit and held off the Beavers down the stretch, making 7-of-8 free throws in the final 23 seconds of the game.

PREVIEW: Volleyball Prepares For NCAA Quarterfinal Against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

It all comes down to this week. There's not a whole lot of preparation time left before the Gustavus volleyball team puts its athletic ability to the test in the NCAA quarterfinals. The opponent is Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, winner of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) playoff and champion of the Georgetown Regional. The Gusties and Athenas square off at 2 p.m. (CST) Thursday at Van Noord Arena on the campus of Calvin College. 

Women’s Basketball Eager To Begin 2017-18 Campaign

One season removed from the program’s first NCAA tournament appearance since 2008, the Gustavus women’s basketball team tips off the 2017-18 campaign Wednesday with its sights set high. The Gusties begin the season on the road tomorrow against Buena Vista University, starting at 7 p.m. in Storm Lake, Iowa.
