BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week award this afternoon, with Gustavus junior Tanner Sonnek (North Mankato, Minn.) earning the weekly honor.

Sonnek won all three of his individual races Saturday in a MIAC dual meet against St. Olaf College. He took first in the 100 breaststroke (58.18), 200 breaststroke (2:08.87), and the 200 IM (2:00.37). Sonnek was also a member of the first place 200 medley relay team (1:37.18). Both of his 100- and 200-breaststroke times from Saturday top the MIAC performance list and his 200 IM time is second best.

This week’s award stands as Sonnek’s fourth career MIAC Swimmer of the Week accolade.
