ROME, Ga. – Gustavus women’s tennis player Briana Hartmann (Jr., Owatonna, Minn.) lost in the first round of the ITA Oracle Cup on Thursday to No. 1 seed and three-time defending national champion Eudice Chong of Wesleyan 6-1, 6-1.

“It was a great learning experience,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “To get a chance to play someone ranked in the top 600 in the world is something special. You can’t help but take lessons from a match like that. We hope to apply what she learned today into tomorrow’s match.”
