Gusties Knocked Out By Auggies In MIAC Volleyball Playoff Quarterfinal

The No. 3-seeded Gustavus volleyball team was upset by the No. 6 seed Augsburg University in a 3-1 loss Tuesday evening at Gus Young Court during a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff quarterfinal match.

Women’s Soccer Upsets St. Olaf 2-0 To Advance In MIAC Playoffs

The final 35 seconds of the first half and the first 34 seconds of the second proved to be the most exciting moments in Tuesday’s MIAC women’s soccer quarterfinal match at No. 3 seed St. Olaf. Gustavus keeper Ashley Becker (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) made a diving penalty kick save at the end of the first half, while Chase Miller (Jr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) worked around a number of defenders in the box and found the left side of the net for a goal to start the second, which proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 victory for the No. 6 seed Gusties.

Alhouni To Represent Men’s Tennis At ITA National Fall Championships

Mohanad Alhouni (Sr., Tripoli, Libya) will represent the Gustavus men’s tennis team at the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, held at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. and JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif. Nov. 1-5.

Sydney Hallmark Named MIAC Women’s Swimmer Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week award this afternoon, with Gustavus junior Sydney Hallmark (Cedarburg, Wis.) earning the weekly honor. 

Nolan Larson Named MIAC Men’s Swimmer Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week award this afternoon, with Gustavus first-year Nolan Larson (Fy., West Des Moines, Iowa) earning the weekly honor. 

Men’s Soccer Hosts MIAC Semifinal Match

The Gustavus men’s soccer team is set to host a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinal matchup Wednesday afternoon at Gustie Soccer Field. The No. 2 seeded Gusties host the highest seed remaining at 2 p.m.

Women’s Soccer Looks For Repeat Performance At St. Olaf To Open MIAC Playoffs

The Gustavus women’s soccer team heads to Northfield, Minn. Tuesday afternoon for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference quarterfinal playoff matchup against St. Olaf College beginning at 2 p.m. The Gusties are the No. 6 seed with a 9-5-3 overall record and finished with a 5-4-2 mark in the MIAC, while the No. 3 seed Oles are 9-7-2 overall and finished 6-3-2 in the league.

Wilson Named MIAC Men’s Soccer Co-Athlete Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s soccer Athlete of the Week award this afternoon, with Gustavus senior midfielder Alex Wilson (Ashland, Wis.) and Daniel Bruckbauer of Saint John's earning co-athlete of the week honors.

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Volleyball Athlete of the Week awards this afternoon, with Gustavus setter Nora Holtan (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) earning the Setter of the Week honor.
