Kate Holtan Named MIAC Volleyball Hitter Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Volleyball Athlete of the Week awards this afternoon, with Gustavus right side/outside hitter Kate Holtan (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) earning the Hitter of the Week honor.   

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Volleyball Athlete of the Week awards this afternoon, with Gustavus right side/outside hitter Kate Holtan (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) earning the Hitter of the Week honor.   

Holtan led the Gustavus attack as the team went 5-0 over the week, improving its overall record to 12-1 on the season. In five matches, Holtan totaled 62 kills, 29 digs and 10 blocks with an attack percentage of .301. In each match, she was the kill-leader and recorded a season-high double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs against Lakeland University in the final match of the Nike/Eastbay Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire over the weekend. For her performance, Holtan earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Gustavus returns to action on Wednesday for its home opener, hosting Carleton College at 7 p.m. at Gus Young Court.
