Men’s Soccer Set For Conference Play At Carleton Posted on September 12th, 2017 by

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s soccer team is set to head into the 2017 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule, starting with a Wednesday afternoon matchup at Carleton College.

The Gusties and the Knights are set to face off at 4 p.m. at Bell Field.

Gustavus began the 2017 season with five non-conference games, winning the first three and finishing with a 3-2-0 record. Through five games, Gustavus has averaged 1.2 goals per game and allowed 1.4 a game to opponents. Arthur Parens (Jr,. Wayzata, Minn.) leads the Black and Gold attack, having scored in the last four games to lead the team with four tallies on the season.

Carleton match up information:

  • Wednesday’s matchup marks the 43rd all-time meeting between the Gusties and the Knights, with Gustavus holding a 26-9-7 advantage.
    • Over the the last five matchups, the Gusties are 4-1 over the Knights, including a 1-0 homecoming victory last season.
  • Carleton most recently suffered its first loss of 2017, falling 2-1 in overtime against Simpson College.
