LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Gustavus men’s golf team currently sits tied for seventh place at the Transylvania Invitational after shooting a team score of 298 Saturday afternoon at the University Club of Kentucky.
Guilford College sits in first place after turning in a team score of 282.
Alec Aunan (Sr., Rock Island, Ill.) led all Gusties with a score of 72. Ben Hauge (So., Ramsey, Minn.) was one stroke behind at 73, while Chris Captain (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) carded a 76. Carter Czichotzki (Fy., Moorhead, Minn.) and Joe Foley (So., East Gull Lake, Minn.), and followed with a 77 and 79.
“We didn’t play our best golf today but we found a way to score from where we were on the course,” said Assistant Coach Randy Stuckey. “Not a lot of putts were made but I was really pleased with our last four holes as a team, as we played two-under-par, which is a great finish. We hope to finish well tomorrow.”
Tomorrow’s final round is scheduled for a 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
