Facing a familiar foe in Middlebury College's top duo of Lubomir Cuba and William de Quant in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Doubles Tournament, the Gustavus pair of Mohanad Alhouni (Jr., Tripoli, Libya) and Patrick Whaling (So., Manikob Sabot, Va.) ended their season with a 3-6, 6-7 loss on Friday afternoon.

Women’s Soccer To Host Summer Camps

The Gustavus women's soccer team is excited to be hosting two different residential camps this summer. Head Coach Laura Burnett-Kurie and the Gusties will host a Co-Ed Youth Soccer Camp, ages 8-17 (June 25-28), and a high-level High School Girls Camp, grades 9-12 (July 9-12).

Hensch Takes 17th In Javelin At NCAA Championships

Gustavus men’s throwing specialist Michael Hensch (So., North Branch, Minn.) took 17th place in the javelin Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Hensch’s throw registered at 182-10. Seth Nonnenmacher, a junior from George Fox, won the event with a heave of 227-1 setting a new stadium record at the SPIRE Institute.

Doubles Pair Advances To Quarterfinals At Men’s Tennis Individual Championships

Representing the Gustavus men's tennis team during day one of the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Individual Championships on Thursday in Chattanooga, Tenn., Mohanad Alhouni (Jr., Tripoli, Libya) lost in the singles first round while the duo of Alhouni and Patrick Whaling (So., Manikob Sabot, Va.) moved on to the quarterfinals of the doubles bracket with a first round victory.

Carston Dammann Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team

The 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams were released Thursday and Gustavus senior Carston Dammann (Lake City, Minn.) was named to the 10-member District 6 Team, which features student-athletes from Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Hensch, ReMine, Morgan Named USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season and three Gusties earned four awards in the Central Region – Michael Hensch (So., North Branch, Minn.) in the hammer throw and javelin, Ed ReMine (Sr., Mantorville, Minn.) in the 400-meter hurdles, and Marisa Morgan (Jr., Rockford, Ill.) in the javelin. Hensch makes his second consecutive appearance on the All-Region Team, while ReMine and Morgan are newcomers to the recognition.

Gustavus men’s track and field field thrower Michael Hensch (So., North Branch, Minn.) has been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 25-27 in Geneva, Ohio, competing in the javelin throw.
