VICTORIA, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team turned in a team score of 310 to take a second place finish Sunday at Deer Run Golf Club during the final round of the Bethel Royal Match.
The Gusties improved upon their round one total by three strokes for a two day total of 623 (+47), finishing as the runner-up in a 10 team field.
Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) improved her round one score by two strokes, shooting a 75. She finished as the runner-up individually with a two day total of 152 (+8).

McKenzie Swenson (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) – 77-78–155 (+11)
Jessica Nelson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) – 84-80–164 (+20)

“Another great day for the ladies taking second place,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “The team is playing very well right now and consistently getting everyone to contribute. Mae Meierhenry continues to post great numbers and is one of the top players in the country right now, fun to watch. Kristen Cash and McKenzie Swenson also had great contributions all weekend.”
The Gusties close out their spring competition next weekend in Hastings, Minn., competing in the Carleton Spring Invitational.
