Chris Captain (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) leads the Gusties after carding an even-par 72 and sits in a tie for fifth place, five strokes behind the leader, Sam Olson of Saint John’s. Three golfers are tied for second place, each shooting a three-under 69.

Thomas Carlson (Fy., Plymouth, Minn.) leads the Gustavus B team, tied for 34th after shooting a 77.

“We had an ok day today, but we need to be sharper tomorrow,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “Chris rallied to fire even which was great, and Koop and Ben threw in a pretty good number as well. This is a great field of teams and with 36 holes tomorrow anything can happen. We will need to be focused and ready to play, if so, good things will happen.”

Round two begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow with the third round immediately following. All 36 holes will be played at the Le Sueur Country Club.
