ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Gustavus women’s golf team turned in a team score of 312 (+32) on Sunday, duplicating the round one score to earn a second place finish at the Washington University in St. Louis Spring Invitational.
Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) went seven-over-par, shooting a 77 to finish with a two-day total of 149, tying for second place individually.
“I am excited about how we finished this weekend and held on to second place in front of many teams ranked ahead of us,” said Meierhenry. “This should give us good momentum for the spring season. My game is in a good place right now and for the most part I was able to put the ball where I wanted to this weekend. It was a lot of fun playing with such a competitive field. I am looking forward to seeing what our team can put together in these next few weeks.”
Kristen Cash (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) and McKenzie Swenson (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) both improved upon their round one scores to finish within the top 20.
