WEST BEND, Wis. – The No. 31-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team defeated DePauw University by a score of 8-1 Saturday, improving its overall record to 20-7.

Gustavus 8, DePauw 1 (Box)

“The guys played a very good match against a strong Depauw team,” said Head Coach Tommy Valentini. “The doubles were well played and close. We trusted our plan and each other down the stretch and handled some tense moments very well. I was pleased with how we competed and created momentum heading to singles. In the singles each guy did well to stay in the present and make sound tactical decisions. We competed with poise and we’re grateful it translated to a winning result. Now we look forward to an exciting challenge tomorrow.”
