Men’s Basketball Hosts Carleton Today On Senior Day Posted on February 18th, 2017 by

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set for its final game of the season today as it hosts Carleton for a 3 p.m. tipoff at Gus Young Court. The Gusties enter the matchup with a 5-19 overall record and 5-14 mark in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after a 66-62 loss at Bethel on Monday, while the Knights are riding a 12-game winning streak with a 16-8 overall record and 13-6 mark in the league after a 67-49 win at St. Olaf.

As is tradition as Gustavus, the final home game of the regular season is designated as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to Gustavus men’s basketball the past four years. This year, the Athletics Department, Head Coach Mark Hanson, parents, and fans salute the four student-athletes who have represented the men’s basketball program with pride and class throughout their collegiate careers. Student-athletes honored today for their years of commitment include Alec Koster (Redwood Falls, Minn.), Peter Kruize (St. Peter, Minn.), Ben Lies (Hutchinson, Minn.), and Coleman Sweeney (Lake City, Minn.). Also honored today are student assistants Josh Gray and Elle Vetter.
