Despite career scoring highs by two Gusties, the Gustavus men’s basketball team lost 93-82 to league-leading Bethel on Wednesday evening. The loss drops the Gusties to 3-10 overall and 3-5 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Royals improve to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the league.
Men’s Basketball Hosts League Leading Bethel Tonight
The Gustavus men’s basketball team completes its four-game home stand at 7 p.m. tonight as it hosts league-leading Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest. The Gusties enter the game 3-9 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC after a 73-56 loss to Saint John’s on Saturday, while the Royals are 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the conference after most recently defeating Augsburg 89-71.
No. 24-Ranked Women’s Basketball Prepares To Take On Bethel
The No. 24-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening, traveling to Arden Hills, Minn. to compete against Bethel University. The 10-3 (5-1 MIAC) Royals are set to host the 13-0 (6-0 MIAC) Gusties at 7 p.m.
Men’s Hockey Erases Two-Goal Deficit, Ties UW-Stout 3-3
Trailing by two goals with seven minutes remaining in the game, the Gustavus men’s hockey team started its comeback effort and was able to score twice in 62 seconds, eventually forcing an overtime with the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the extra period and the game ended in a 3-3 tie. The Gusties move to 1-8-4 overall, while the Blue Devils are now 7-7-1.
Gymnastics Opens Season With Conference Win At UW-Oshkosh
The Gustavus gymnastics team started its season Saturday with a dual victory for the first time since 2007, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 175.550-174.725 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet.
